Swiss artist Reto Boller is an inventor working on the margins of traditional painting. Boller’s concepts evolve from the dissolution of established boundaries between different pictorial genres, while ceaselessly attempting to integrate painterly impulses in spatial contexts. His work thus combines an in-depth analysis of the artistic potential of painting with a precise notion of what defines an image. Reto Boller has been teaching painting at the State Academy of Visual Arts in Stuttgart since 2007.
