Exhibition until February 28, 2014

Häusler Contemporary München is proud to present early projection works by the world-renowned light artist James Turrell in a solo exhibition to start in November 2013. To celebrate Turrell’s 70th birthday, three major US museums – the Los Angeles County Museum (LACMA), the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum New York – are staging individual exhibitions each highlighting different aspects of the artist’s work. The New York exhibition in particular has been greatly acclaimed by the media and attracted wide public attention beyond the realm of art. Before he opens further museum shows in Israel and Australia in 2014, Häusler Contemporary has invited the Master of Light to Munich, where he will conclude the »Turrell Year« 2013 with an incisive presentation of his work. The exhibition will focus on the artist’s first historic series, his iconic projection works from the 1960s.
