»Fokus Papier: Randgänge der Zeichnung« | Group show with Corsin Fontana, Kilian Rüthemann, Michael Venezia, Andy Warhol, u.a.
Kunstmuseum Basel (CH)
August 19 – November 26, 2017

The second part of «Fokus Papier» exhibition bears the subtitle «Randgänge der Zeichnung» and presents works from our collection from the past 50 years. All the approaches in the works on display are located at the margins of drawing and do not meet the traditional understanding of drawing. We show works by Anna Barriball, Sari Dienes, Nadine Fecht, Corsin Fontana, Franziska Furter, Christian Marclay, Kilian Rüthemann, Markus Schwander, Michael Venezia and Andy Warhol. All of these artists use unconventional techniques such as spray, tracing or frottage.

The exhibition series «Fokus Papier» gives insight into the Kupferstichkabinett’s collection in the spaces of Kunstmuseum Basel’s main building. The Kupferstichkabinett’s archive out of which the exhibitions are curated consists of up to 300’000 works.
