Hubert Kiecol
«Histoires de dessins: le hasard & le vagabond» | Group Show
FRAC Picardie, Amiens (FR)

Exhibition:
March 27 – June 29, 2019

With works by Jean-Michel Alberola |Silvia Bächli | Marlene Dumas | Hubert Kiecol | Vera Molnar | Matt Mullican | Jean-Luc Mylayne | Gabriel Orozco | Giuseppe Penone | Nancy Spero | a.o.

The works of the exhibition at FRAC picardie engage with the public in a dialogue on topics such as the immensity of the world, the world in miniature, the image of a loved person ...

The eye is a curious vagabond that enriches the memory of random finds of encounters and work that are collected here and there. In this sense, the drawings accumulated over the years, here arranged like imaginary beings according to specific themes, are tiny objects in the immensity of the world, so to speak, but their presence opens up extraordinary wide spaces. These fine traces, which we happen to be offered on rambles, allow us to look at some aspects of the history of drawing that we want to associate with a fable, a memory, a gaze.

Creating a collection of contemporary art also means documenting people of our time.
