The University Children's Hospital Zurich is one of the largest and most important children's hospitals in Europe and possibly in the world. The hospital is known for its achievements in healthcare, research and education, as well as for its compassionate care. In collaboration with the University Children's Hospital Zurich, James Turrell (*1943, Los Angeles, lives in Flagstaff, US) has designed a «Skyspace» for the new building, which is a walk-in installation that will provide a place of peace and inspiration, joy and happiness for the children, their relatives as well as visitors.
«My Sky» is a permanent and central component in the new building of the Children's Hospital Zurich. The installation spans over 2 floors and the lighting takes place comprehensively on three levels. The space is large enough that it can also be accessed with a bed or in a larger group, and the seating invites people to spend time there.
